Person-centred mental health care:
Outcomes that matter to patients and their carers
EPA 2018 emphasises the current view of mental health care and research as person-centred, i.e. aimed to provide the best available methods and treatments by matching therapeutic interventions with each individual’s characteristics, values and preferences. Within this frame, the outcome assessment of research and treatment programmes in mental health care needs to be re-discussed to determine which methods, stakeholders, outcome domains and outcome measures should be prioritised.
The 2018 Forum aims at stimulating the discussion on these issues and identifying the steps toward a European consensus.
